Back in January we had an unusually warm day, and I took it out. Going around a turn I lost traction because I hit the throttle too hard. . Another refutation of the "underpowered" nature of the CB1100. No @~*^e. This bike is just fine as delivered and by the way it is NOT a beginner's bike. It is just now starting to get my attention and after just spending an entire day wringing out my GSX-R on the racetrack, the fact the CB1100 is still very interesting is saying something. RE: Can't get speedometer working after accident - Tortuga_imp - 04-27-2014 As sorry for the OP's terrible predicament as I am, I have a few problems believing the circumstances of the accident. To have the bike power slide away from you as you describe sounds unlikely from my experience, as the power isn't insane and the torque is fairly flat. What I suspect happened was you made the bike unstable for whatever reason, and then tried to correct, causing a loss of control. Stable bike + stable rider = good juju Stable bike + unstable rider = potential crash Unstable bike + unstable rider = no worky speedo. If I'm wrong, just ignore me.
