RE: Rear Brake Hanging - the Ferret - 04-12-2015 Rboe, since you are used to short pedals on your other bikes, and since the rear brake on the CB is so useless anyway, or as so many people have told me you are not supposed to use the rear brake anyway, why not take the pedal off a shorten the end a bit? I was lucky that the head mechanic did the work. Here are two things I learned and hope everyone can remember. WELL DUH! I WASN'T TURNING THE SMALL NUT. THAT'S THE ONE THAT LOWERS THE LEVER! THE BIG NUT IS JUST A LOCKING NUT. RE: Rear Brake Hanging - rboe - 04-12-2015 Ferret. I use the rear brake for making tight U turns (like when I leave the Grotto and have to make a U turn on the divided road to head back home) and for aggressive stopping. I'll use it the presence of gravel, so I don't consider it useless by a long shot. ![]() I've also used it to warp the rear rotor but that wasn't planned.
