Probably do better changing the sprockets than trying to get into the engine. 90hp from an air-cooled inline 4 that meets various markets smog requirements is quite a feat.

A very interesting Thread, and most of the posts are noteworthy and certainly merit consideration and thought.
The only thing I, personally will add is... it's windy, stormy, wet and 32(F)... and I WANT TO RIDE my CB1100!

Weren't much better in the TX Hill Country today. Rained last night hard and today only go up into the upper 40s and was windy. Supposed to get warmer soon. I took a 200 mile ride Wed before Christmas and it was in the mid-80s and cloudless... perfect riding weather. Hope you didn't get caught up in those twisters that went through there recently!

I once put mild Megacycle cams in a 1983 Suzuki GS1100. They had about 20 degrees of valve overlap. They really woke that motor up.

It would be cool if some grinder came out with a set of performance cams for the CB1100
