RE: Complete Electrical Failure - 4 Paws_imp - 10-24-2016 Since you mentioned "trickle chargers" I have a question, will leaving a good quality intelligent charger hooked up continuously to a lead acid battery in a seldom ridden motorcycle shorten its life appreciably? Is it better to just hook up the battery tender the night before you hope to ride that bike? A good one will not harm the battery at all. Allowing it to drain over time will cause it to fail. These days, just make sure it is a true "intelligent" charger that will just provide a regulated float charge. They make an adapter to the usual two-prong DC connector, though. They come in 750 and 1100 mA sizes. Battery Tender is another good brand. |
