This is a lot of thinking and labor to defuel a tank. I use a length of clear hose with primer bulb near the outward end. Stick the suck end into the tank, to the lowest point of the tank, put the discharge end into the container, pinch the hose closed with a pair of pliers, and squeeze the bulb a few times. Be sure you are working the bulb in the right direction. There is an arrow on the bulb to show fuel flow direction. When the hose is full of fuel, let go of the pliers and the fuel will begin to flow.

Picked [url=https://www.autozone.com/test-scan-and-specialty-tools/fluid-pump/performance-tool-rubber-siphon-hose/147205_0_0]this up last night at Autozone for $4.00 and it drained about 4 gal out of my 2017 tank just fine. Total time may have been 15 minutes or so from the time I opened the package to the nearly empty tank. Draining time was half of that or less.

It's exactly the level of quality you'd expect for $4. But it worked.

Note on the 2017 tank (I haven't seen the others so don't know if this applies.) There is only 1" (maybe 1.25") of vertical space from the filler spout opening hole to the bottom of the opening (see pic.)

That's not a lot of space for maneuvering things around to get down into the tank. For example, I have it on good authority that the brass fitting on the Original Super Siphon is exactly 2.5" long. It doesn't work on this tank. Related, let me know if you may have a different use for a never-used Original Super Siphon. I know where you can find one.

without going thru all the posts, did you try a squeeze bulb?

Yep. That's what I linked to and attached a picture of. Cheap little squeeze bulb option from Autozone. Don't know how long it will last or work--but for $4 it got what I needed done. Big Grin
