I don't see why the reasons why he is going to shut it down somehow change the answer.
Lets all chip in to give him some money as appreciation for him having created this place we all enjoy- then someone else simply takes over the date / login / password.

You're looking at the site as a commodity but it is much more than that. Just look at the grateful accolades that people post all of the time saying how important this site is to them. Guth created that, it's his baby. It's not just something you just hand to someone else and walk away. I'm sure he's proud of this site and if he does hand it over to someone else wants to be sure it's the right person. Or he could decide there is no "right" person and he just wants to end it. Ultimately that's his right.

Whoever gets it, one should run the forum the same/100% way, including keeping the moderators as Guth has done it.
It would be our tribute and acknowledgment to his hard work an effort.

It would be big loss to me if we were to loose this forum. This is the BEST forum I have ever visited, and that's because of many reasons, including the great people who manage it, and the great people who post to it. I visit this site every time I turn on my computer, and enjoy it every time. Please, someone step up and continue this wonderful forum.
