Every time I straddle the CB and back it out of the garage I'm amazed at how light it feels. To me it feels lighter than my CBR1000RR. It's all subjective, I guess.

To me it is definitely lighter than my 3 cylinder XS850... and it even has one more cylinder!

I think the 1100 is kinda deceptive....Sitting on it it feels narrow and light.....but just stand back and look at it....there is a lot of top end on that engine.....and as some have stated....it has a pretty high center of gravity because of that. My wife and i were putting at a bike rally one night and i was doing a little u turn on some loose gravel at almost a stand still .....the bike got a little more past off center than i wanted and i couldn't believe how heavy it felt.... of course i had my hand on the front break as that was going on and the front end was trying to wash out ...i couldn't let go of the break because i was tying to pull it back up to center and almost dropped it.....Yes adrenaline and embarrassment saved the day! (was not dropping a Honda surrounded by 6000 Harley's!!) My right shoulder still hurts! lol!

I find the low seat height helps as I can easily get both feet flat on the ground which assists with confidence and control (I'm 174cm tall, or 5 feet 8). Yes, it's a tad heavy, but once underway the weight disappears. I use this as a city bike, everyday bike and commuter and that means jumping on and off, parking etc. I've never thought the weight was an issue.
I just remind myself not to get complacent. When I'm backing it into a parking space, wheeling it around or doing slow riding, tight u-turns etc, I just remind myself "this is a heavy bike, be smooth with your inputs and be gentle on the brake". No problemo.

Everything is relative. The CB1100 is the same approximate weight as the 750 Spirit I had, with the same or more torque as the 1100 Sabre I had (which was quite a bit heavier), and 35-40 more HP than either one. This bike is a featherweight by typical cruiser standards.

I do understand your signature dBuster,,,,,,,,
and some.
I like the 1100 for it's shape, weight to power, and it's updated electronics such as carburation, speedo and tacco, oil light, and over all start and go.....after it's reached its temperature.
I have mostly had second hand bikes, 99% HONDA and this bike for me is a creature comfort bike.
Ans I'ám a Creature.

While I find the CB slightly top heavy it is positively delicate compared to my Road Star 1600 Silverado.

I feel that my CB1100 is in the same weigh range as a 750cc size motorcycle. But, my last ride was a 750 pound Victory Crossroads!! I had a BMW RT1200, (2011) and it was only a little lighter to me compared to the Honda Cb1100. So, remember, light bikes are allways more fun!!! They have a built-in fun thing about them. Honda has all-ways had a way to make their bikes feel lighter than they were. Goldwings, etc...

I agree. My CB750 is only 40 lbs. lighter than the CB1100. Riding the CB11, it actually feels lighter and smaller than the 750.
