Wow. Thanks for being the pioneer, CIP! Given the hp output from the various stock dyno runs, I was expecting a top end more in the neighborhood of 135-140 mph. Do you think the ECU flash is factor here? On the stock dyno runs, power tends to peak around 7300.

With my new app on my phone with gps I can prove my top speed when I get my ECU back on.

I don't think there's any doubt about that. I remember seeing their 0-100 mph times looked really good, but the quarter mile times seemed off. The published terminal speed for the 1/4 mi. run was 110 (IIRC), which is a bit of a hint.

Agreed, I thought the e.t. doesn't match the speed as well. The bike was topped out, I wonder for how long? I rode mine today on a fresh oil change, passed a semi on the freeway with a 70mph Roll-on. The bike felt like a rocket, jumped out to 95 in no time, and wanted plenty more. Felt very strong. My old h-2 was really tricked out to run 11.2, but the terminal speed on those runs was usually 118 to 120mph.

Ridem..your speedo buries at 120. You will have to rely on GPS for top speed

Now we need a source for a replacement speedometer, one that will go up to say 200 mph...
That way when a cop pulls you over saying you were doing 150 you can correct him and tell him "no actually it was more like 162. You might want to get your equipment calibrated."

Cool beans on the speedo, I have not had a GPS on mine yet so it's nice to know. I've "tested" my Griso's speedo against the road side radar speed indicators and its' within a mile per hour of that.

If you are pulling 140+ that means the bike's top end power has been substantially improved, as it takes a lot of HP to push a big barn door like the CB1100 through the air. I'm not surprised, I've felt for some time the engine was seriously detuned. 88 HP from an 1140? That engine could make 120 HP easily without mechanical mods, methinks.

I disagree. What we need is a source for "vintage" 85-mph speedometers. Then we could honestly say we didn't know how fast we were going.ROFL
