As mentioned by others, I don't like anything in pockets while riding, not even a pen on the way to work as it could puncture your body in an accident, I even try to put my reading glasses in the saddle bags rather than my shirt pocket.
For me, decision to carry or not, is not based on motorcycles.
If you are that scared and paranoid, you will probably carry walking to the store and riding....if you really want to be safe on a motorcycle....wear a full face helmet.

See the thread has started to drift from how you carry to if you should carry and that's what I was afraid of.
