Because collectively in the U.S. we are lemmings who follow trends. Harleys. Rice rockets. We like HEAVY. We like being pretzels. Chiropractors and push ups. Posing at the donut shop. Now we like adventure bikes with little fairings that make a lot of noise, even with earplugs...and pretending to be Ewan Mcgregor. We don't realize that for most of us, a CB Classic 700 twin would be enough. We ride Sundays. We don't commute...not like they do in South Asia. We like something called Cool that was invented after WWII. "Wow man, look at meeeee!" Worst of all, we don't test ride the sensible machines. I test rode the Shadow RS750 and came back telling the sales guy, "I give you, The Motorcycle." It did need more beans on the highway. Test rode the Valkyrie. "Not sure why you're buying that Harley, man, but have at it." A CB500 Classic would be nice.

The Shadow RS 750 would be a heck of a bike with 85 horsepower (and a bigger tank). Very comfortable motorcycle.

I could get by with a big little bike. A street version of my XR650L (even 500cc would be OK) would be just fine.

My other Honda is a NT700V. I'm sure most, if not all of you are thinking " A what? "
A 700cc touring bike. Permanent side cases. Well made, lots of room and very comfortable to ride, not to mention Honda reliability. It was a popular bike in Europe for quite a few years, and when it was brought here, guess what? it didn't sell. No surprise. It was quiet, well balanced, and did I mention, 700cc ? The exhaust didn't scream ' I have arrived! ' when you pull into the bar's parking lot. I guess people thought it was unsafe since it didn't have the loud pipes that save lives.
The bigger is better U.S. 'Supersize Me' mentality says 1400cc is good, 1800cc says you're a real man, a serious rider! Why drive a car when you can drive a 12MPG city, 6,000lb SUV to bring your kid to kindergarten?!

It'd be a shadow RS 1100.
My wife had an old Twinstar 185. That bike was a cold-hearted b***h but it was a hoot to ride. Not a lot of power but still beat most of the cagers away from a stop light.

I don't know what you guys are on about. Riva Motorschports has a brand new Vultus in an awesome flat-black finish sitting on the sales floor. It has "Front Massive Styling," puts out a pavement-pounding 54 horsepower, and costs a mere $15,000!
What more could you ask from Honda?

- I actually like the Vultus. It's really weird but that is what is so interesting about it. If you're going to cruise, why not be eccentric? I could see a gaggle of these commuting into the city every morning. Or gangs of em plowing thru traffic in an assault on the senses of cagers en masse.

Actually, they're listed at only $10,999...
Kind of cool, in a BatCycle sort of way. Wish it had more like 90 or 100hp, but that would probably defeat its purpose.
