I would have been better off waiting for the CB, but I don't regret getting (and keeping) the Griso. She is a fine machine. But they are apples and oranges.

But dang, that Japan CB1300 with sport fairing is might fine looking.

After looking around for something a little on the nostalgic side (I was still riding my '95 Ducati 900 SS/CR), and more comfortable for my aging self, I took a ride on a Triumph Bonneville in Sept. 2012 and bought it on the spot. I got the mag-wheeled variety because I liked its '70s look, as opposed to the more "old-school" wire-wheeled Bonnies. The bike is a lot of fun, very easy to ride, gets lots of attention, and has tremendous aftermarket support...but even after some mods, I was wanting for more HP. I'm no racer anymore by any means, but I do enjoy a bit more thrust when twisting the wrist than the Bonneville can manage.
About 3 months after buying the Triumph, I saw the first peek of the CB. It was definitely love at first sight. I love the Bonnie, but if the CB had been available at the time I was shopping, the CB would have easily been residing in my garage instead.
It took me about a year and a half, and the selling of two other bikes, but I got a leftover '13 in April of '14. The rest is history. Wink
