This is a great Forum no doubt, the only other Forum's that I enjoy are the Triumph Rat for Hinckley Twins and Bonneville America.com
Also what's great about this forum is there are a lot of Triumph owners and true enthusiasts who even tho they love their CB can respect and appreciate other bikes!

As a fellow Wee owner, I couldn't agree more. I sold my 06 because it I was bored with it and it didn't tug my heart strings. Ended up with the CB a couple months later.The Wee works so well for me as it does everything I ask it to do. The CB just puts a smile on my face even though the wind protection is terrible, it rides rough on bumpy roads, has a small gas tank, and doesn't carry much stuff. I bought a newer Wee realizing I should have kept my old one. I don't regret selling it because I wouldn't have ended up with CB had I not. The CB is the bike that I usually want to ride, even when the weather or the ride route calls for the Wee. It isn't rational, but owning a motorcycle really isn't, either. The CB just has the allure.

Gossman, I agree with you. I joined a few other forums, one for the KLR, one for the Harley, as well as the Mercedes-Benz Owners group. But this is the one I keep coming back to. I just couldn't get into the others... this one I can't get away from. As for the farkles... I was going to buy the 2013 anyway even before I found this site. But it was this same group of great guys that got me excited about trading my 2013 for a new 2014 Deluxe even before I saw one in the flesh (err...metal). Now that's a FARKLE! Hold on to your wallet!! You're going to spend some money here... and love every minute of it.

I've got to be honest with you guys, My "CB1100 life" has become very mundane as of late. The CB gets pulled out of the garage for the daily commute and that's about it these days. I take good care of it of course but it always seems like it is in need of a washing. I suppose to some degree that's bound to happen around here this time of the year. But it's also a result of other things going on in my life that are demanding my time. I'm sure that balance will change, but for now I read of the CB1100 adventures you all are sharing on a daily basis with just a tinge of envy.
On the other hand this thread is awesome as it has reminded me of why I started this forum in the first place. I'm really happy for everyone that has benefitted from this community. If this forum has in some way made the CB ownership experience even better for anyone out there then that's just icing on the cake.
It's been a while now, but more than once I've gone back to the CB1100 thread on the ADVrider forum and re-read the posts that myself and others made as we waited for news about whether or not CB1100 would arrive in the states, followed by waiting for actual CB1100s to arrive, finally followed by actual CB1100 ownership stories which were the best. This of course has played out time and again here on the forum and I still find myself chuckling a bit every time someone reports with great enthusiasm about picking up their new, or new-to-them CB1100. In general, I believe that to some degree motorcycles truly bring out the inner child in all of us. Perhaps for many of us, that is even more so when it comes to the CB1100 and the pure joy that it delivers.

I can relate to the "inner child" syndrome.
I'm 77 and when I'm out on the road on the CB (or any of my bikes) I feel like I'm 19 again and ageless - especially when I ride alone and am in control of only myself.
That may seem odd (maybe even goofy) to those who don't ride bikes, but I guess it's something you have to experience to understand the feelings we try to explain.
You really have to do it to fully understand.

Rocky, you have put into words what many of us feel. And 19 is the exact age I am when riding solo. That's how I do about 95% of my riding - solo.
But Eric's passing has me rethinking that - even though the freedom of riding alone has such a pull.
