Maxima Chain Wax every 500 miles
cleaned chain for first time a few weeks ago at 15K miles using Motul chain cleaner and a chain cleaning brush ( says safe on o rings). I am not a fan of WD40 or wiping a chanin with a rag, feel it forces the dirt into the pivots rather than clears them out like a brush does.

My chain was cleaned (probably) at the 600m service. Was back talking with the dealer yesterday and asked them to clean and lube it. After starting to clean and brush it, they said it was already pretty clean (nothing on it), and it didn't need it. I'm at 3,200 miles.

Lubricate each time you fill up - rotor - 09-20-2015

Lubricate each time you fill up, and clean at the end of every the riding season.

Keep a small plastic bottle (about 50cc should last the whole season) of SAE 80 oil and a 1/4" painting brush under the seat. When done with the fuel, dip the brush lightly (so it is not dripping!) in the oil, and pass it over whatever inside section of chain is exposed - on most bikes this will be about 1/4 to 1/3rd of the whole length of the chain. If there is a single drop of oil left on the pavement where you did it, there was too much oil on the brush.

Once a year lift the rear wheel, use kerosene ("lamp oil", sold in most hardware stores), very soft nail-brush and cotton cleaning rug to soak any grime, clean and dry, and then oil very lightly the complete length of the chain.
