My mileage isn't that great but I ride a lot harder than most of the people in this sub I think. I regularly use the entire RPM range. I need a release after going easy on the throttle in my Honda Pilot to save gas there lol. I also don't use my 6th gear all the time. If I'm on the highway surrounded by other traffic (90% of the time in the Seattle area) I stay in 5th even up to 70-75 mph just for the extra power to get out of a situation without downshifting if needed. I'll use 6th more in carpool lanes or not around traffic.

Just like 736cc I have a 19 tooth front sprocket and a big windshield, also I am retired and only get out
when traffic is light and conditions are good.
One thing I did notice on my trip - once I got below the middle of Ill. where the interstates start to smooth out ( no frost heaves) you can hold your speed better and mpg goes up 1-2.

Being a guy that rides only for pleasure (in other words, no commuting, etc.), I don't really keep track on my '13. The couple of tanks that I have checked, have been 46-48, but I never ride it trying to get good mileage - I'm too much of a twisted-throttle lover, especially on a big inline-4.

This is the first motorcycle I've had that I can cruise along on the freeway - absent of any traffic congestion, of course - at a leisurely 2500 to 3000 rpm in 6th gear (55 to 65 mph). Frankly, it's hard to use my poor man's CC, because the throttle is barely off the stop. Although, I only use CC to give my wrist a break every so often. I'm certain my fuel economy would easily top 50 mpg, if I rode like this most of the time. Unfortunately, I live in a large city with over 1 million people, so freedom to ride at the speed limit, other than after dark, is sadly a rare event.
