Rear View Mirrors - Elipten_imp - 08-26-2016 I like the CB500 mirrors better as I get a better field of view. I am a short wide heavy man and the field of view for me on the stock round mirrors is limited and hard to see behind and to the sides. The CB500 mirrors solved the issue and I just like the rectangular shape better for a wider field of view I have the same issue with the mirrors on my BMW K75RT. My shoulders block a lot of the view I may upgrade to the CB1000 mirrors on my 2013 std for a more sporty look I am on a long overseas work trip but if you wait and I remember I can send photos of the DLX with the CB500 mirrors when I get home Lordy I miss riding and it has been months now! Retirement can't come soon enough so I can ride like some of you lads! RE: Rear View Mirrors - Wisedrum - 08-27-2016 Does anyone has an idea of what had happend to my original mirrors? Some blind spots have appeared at their rims which seem to stay forever. Bad quality or did I do something wrong while cleaning them? Here's a pic, that shows one of them. It's a cosmetic problem, so it don't bother me that much, but my Kawa W800, which is some years older now, doesn't have this specific fault. Wisedrum RE: Rear View Mirrors - Bighonda14_imp - 08-27-2016 Elipten yeah I would be grateful for a photo or 2 of your DLX with the new mirrors. Do you recall how much you paid for them? Thanks. Rear View Mirrors - Elipten_imp - 08-27-2016 I have no idea what I paid and I am thousands of miles from the receipt, if I filed it. What did you use to clean it with? RE: Rear View Mirrors - uscgmac_imp - 08-28-2016 I've tried several aftermarket mirrors and went back to stock. I feel the stock mirrors fit the look of the bike and I'm used to slightly adjusting my arms or shoulders to see behind me when needed. The field of view is actually quite standard for stock mirrors. So many years of riding with so many bikes I guess I'm just used to adapting and making whatever work. They are fine for me. Any suggestions on replacements or how to maximize the view they provide? I have the same problem on my CB1100 EX ... I directed the mirror trying to optimize the location ... just the mirror not else. However, there is not good visibility! I do the same with the Kawa mirrors and they don't show these spots. Maybe the Honda behaves a little different 'cause it has its own style. Wisedrum |
