Parabellum Tall 24" tinted windscreen. Does a great job of keeping the wind off of me since I use the CB for longer rides...

so you ride a Street Triple into a tobacco field on Father's Day and crash , then join a forum which you hate to participate in to ask for advise your not willing to except or appreciate from a knowledgeable person who would never ride a triple in a tobacco field ?

I have a 09 STR matte orange and I go by lola on triumph675 on there too and remember when you lost you're Dad...

hope you're healing up with your crash.

power wise compared to the STR the CB1100 is not far off straight line wise. The Torque on the CB1100 will keep up in first and second gear then you will see the STR pull through 3rd and so on. Personally I do not feel that the cb1100 lacks power compared to Street tripe R and I have both. One thing you will notice is weight between the two and the CB1100 is at least 110lbs more than the STR...

I have a 2013 cb1100 but If I had a choice again I would have picked up a DLX... Why? Six gear, bigger tank and those beautiful dual pipes... plus I commute more on the cb1100 and a sixed gear would come in handy for me.

Kid was only online here for 3 days. I call him a kid, but only because compared to me, he is. Technically young man I suppose. Guess I ran him off. Certainly wasn't my intention. I am generally compasionate and welcoming, at least I try to be. Just something about the tone of his post that said to me this kid needs a reality check before he leaves a young wife without a husband and 2 babies without a father. Guess it's really none of my business what happens to him or his family. Must be getting soft in my old age. I truly am sorry for his loss, losing a father takes a toll on the survivors. Imagine how his wife and 2 babies would feel.

I truly hope where ever he is, that he sits down and takes stock of life. It is short as is. Racing high powered motorcycles around curvy roads has the ability make it shorter... in a hurry. Sounds as if has responsibilities he needs to put a priority on. Looking back from my perspective that's easy to see and postulate on as I was in the exact same situation 40 years ago. I got lucky. A few of my friends didn't. I still have a framed picture of a motorcycling friend I lost (too soon) 46 years ago on a mantle downstairs. John was 22. He never got a chance to live. I still miss him.

Ferret, don't second guess yourself. I was hard on him too because I also thought he needed to hear it. Losing his father like that he should have realized he's not invincible, but I didn't think he understands that yet, as many young kids don't.

We all have to be grown ups and understand that others may post here things we necessarily didn't expect to hear, or don't want to hear, but we shouldn't take it as a personal attack, as it's offered in the spirit of friendship and out of concern for one another. At least on this forum it is...

Ferret, sorry about your buddy John. That's way too young. I've lost two myself -- one to a DUI and another to an oncoming truck, but it doesn't matter. They're gone, they left loving spouses and children behind, and it's all very painful and unfortunate. We all suffer for it.
