Hey...saw one of these on today's ride, only it was hanging on the riders clutch lever. I come up to a 4 way stop. Directly across from me is a dude and chick on a Harley. He's bald, black leather vest, goatee (not stereotypical at all lol) and hanging from his clutch lever is this long braided line almost all the way to the ground. Had my camera around my neck too but didn't think about a pic until he was past me. Thought about turning around and running him down for one, but not sure how he would take that. . Funny how we were just talking about these, this morning and BAM..there one is. I just learned something here. I pulled up behind a Harley at a red light, couldn't figure why this guy had a dog leash hanging off of his bike. First thing I thought is that's not too safe( it was touching the ground). The guy must have been a real brainwave, when he took off the leash started flapping around and smacking him. So this guy takes leash or whip or whatever it was and wraps it around his arm 3 or 4 times. I have never thought tethering myself to my bike was even remotely a good idea.........

I usually wear hightop workboots that lace up but I tuck them in. Years ago i pulled up to a stoplight and my left shoelace wrapped around the shifter when I put my foot down. I was on my way down and it came loose. Was able to save it but not by much....lol. It is difficult to tell your brain to LIFT UP YOUR FOOT! when you are headed down.

Those braided whips actually have a break away clip. They are not secured permanently to the lever. They are weighted on the end so they don't flap all over. They were made as a form of protection that can be pulled off therefore unclipping immediately. Some not so nice bikers can un clip it on the go and break the window of a car in which he had a dispute with. It's kind of a 1%er type thing as they have club colors. Some non association bikes have them for the look.

Those are just so poofy looking. It is impossible to see the point in them. May as well put a Minnie Mouse on the head light or something.
