I've only ever used stock sizes on my bikes. I wouldn't really know how to look at a tire size and know it will or won't fit other than following the stock spec and the rim size is obvious but the other 2 numbers still confuse me.

I dont think I would mind a slightly larger tires both front and rear if it didn't cause issues? I know guys here have gone up in the rear. Not sure how that affects handling or payload limits?

I've only ever used stock sizes on my bikes. I wouldn't really know how to look at a tire size and know it will or won't fit other than following the stock spec and the rim size is obvious but the other 2 numbers still confuse me.

Sorry been out all day. Im no tire expert either and in 2013 I also questioned going up in tire sizes. A couple of forum members had done it, using 120 front and 160 rear. They had no issues so I mounted up a set of PR 3s on my 2013 and saw there were no clearance issues for myself.

One benefit I saw on the rear, with the 140 I could run them all the way to the edge. With the 160, try as I might I always had some rubber unused (aka a chicken strip) which I felt gave me a little extra safety measure.

So I have been running 160s on the rear for 10 years now ( approx 80,000 miles on 2 CB,s) and mostly 120s on the front.

Im no roadracer but others will vouch I can ride pretty quickly and pretty smoothly. I dont always ride like a grandpa in other words. The larger tire sizes handle just fine. As far as payload limits they have to be greater than with smaller tire sizes I would think, but to what extent I have no idea.

If quality tires came in the stock sizes Iwould have no issue running them, but I also have no qualms about running 1 up sizes on the CB.

Awesome thank you for the input, I'm definitely gonna go to the larger tires next time around but at this rate my newish tires might dry rot before I can wear them out.

Yeah just to add my experience here

I read on the forum that people go for larger tire sizes. I concur on the 160 at the rear : that's the upgrade I was missing on the bike. Now it's the pegs that scrape and not the tire that is the lean angle limit anymore.

However I found that putting a 120/70-R18 on the front was a remarkably bad decision ; the tyre would get squeezed in the rim (which is too narrow) and change its profile. I got a smaller usable profile than with the 110 as a result. The bike would desunite itself during turns, first the front of the bike leaned in quicker and then the rear followed and gave a imprecise behavior. Too bad considering that it is, in my opinion, one of the strenghts of the CB : a brilliantly clear chassis. I wouldn't recommend it, and I think it is unsafe.

I run Dunlops Roadsmart IV. As of now : 110/80-18 front and 160/60-18 rear. Great setup, amazing tyres.

So, had a 2013 years ago. Just picked up a very lightly used 2014 last night...and holy crap am I shocked by the lack of tire availability.

I know the 160/60 for the rear is a popular alternative. How about the front, if any?

I can't seem to find a matching set of tires in any variation of sizes we can use either. I have a slow leak from the bead. I can't ride anyways but I wanted to get some new shoes for my 2014 also

Metzeler Z8, 110/f and 140/r - have these on my DLX
Pirelli Angel GT, 110/f, 160/r - on my std
Bridgestone Battlax T32, 110/f, 140-160/r - these will be my next set

All,
Continental Road Attack 3 CR are also available. Stock front size. 150/65 for the rear.
