RE: Wife is on a Scooter - Mechanix_imp - 08-22-2018 My wife and a friend of hers used to ride around Palo Alto on an elite scooter back in the late 80’s, she remembered the fun she had and wanted to get a PCX150 to ride since I had my dual sport. So we picked one up and she took the safety course and passed. She got her M1 endorsement before I did, and I’ve been riding for a while! I agreed to take the course and was told to get the CB I was checking out when we bought her scooter. It’s been a couple years and she loves going for rides around town and looks for reasons to go out together on our bikes. Even though she can ride a motorcycle she loves her scooter...I’m kinda embarrassed to say I actually like it too! RE: Wife is on a Scooter - Cormanus - 08-22-2018 Don’t be embarrassed, Mechanix. There’s nothing wrong with scooters. Or Harleys. Or any other motorcycle, really. The problem is prejudice. RE: Wife is on a Scooter - 4 Paws_imp - 08-22-2018 It's all about your wife. If she's having fun and enjoying riding encourage her by helping rather than guiding her towards what you want her to ride. Give her a chance to enjoy and explore without rushing or pushing her somewhere she doesn't want to be - like a Harley dealership. RE: Wife is on a Scooter - misterprofessionality - 08-22-2018 haha, she is totally not going to a harley dealership. I think she doesn't find the scooter embarrassing at all, but I just know that i've been where she's at before, and the displacement bug always bites. That said, There's such a wide variety of step-throughs, she could ride those her whole life. |
