RE: ADV CB's - Cormanus - 11-15-2014 Where would you want to put it? If on a rack or the seat, you could tie it down from the handles with a couple of webbing straps. It's a good idea, I reckon. RE: ADV CB's - emptysea - 11-15-2014 I want to use them at side cases--panniers I guess Re: RE: ADV CB's - zachamo_imp - 11-15-2014 (11-15-2014, 12:58 PM)EmptySea_imp Wrote: I don't think I want to start a new thread on this, so let me ask here...I've been thinking all day about my ammo can luggage idea and what I need is a mounting method. I was thinking that I could use some sort of stay that might already exist to keep soft bags in place and that would mount to the existing tie-down bolts. Anyone have any idea where I could look for this? I tried searching the forum and the Internet, but frankly, I was unsure what words to search on.I attached some larger "amo box" like plastic boxes I found at an outdoors store. I cobled together some brackets made out of construction 90 degree angle brackets and threaded rods from menards. Worked alright but they have to much flex so the boxes bounce a bit too much. Overall I like the look and utility of them, but I want to move the turn signals so I can get the boxes back a few more inches and in closer to the bike and perhaps paint them. Also need to fab sturdier brackets, which has been the challenge. RE: ADV CB's - emptysea - 11-15-2014 The brackets are what I'm trying to figure out. I like the looks of your set up. If you figure out a sturdier mounting system, let me know. Also, what are the dimensions of those boxes? RE: ADV CB's - zachamo_imp - 11-16-2014 Here they are; Sport Utility Dry Box – 11 1/2in.L x 15in.W x 8in.D http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200153124_200153124 RE: ADV CB's - LostViking_imp - 12-29-2014 The Belgian folks have a Ride Report going on over at ADV too. I think the CBs look great with the Explorer Boxes. Sure would make getting groceries nice and easy. |
