RE: Aussieflyer's Cafe Racer - part 5 - Tranahan_imp - 11-23-2014 Looks awesome, great job! RE: Aussieflyer's Cafe Racer - part 5 - jsinher3_imp - 02-02-2015 bump would like to see the progress made on this bike RE: Aussieflyer's Cafe Racer - part 5 - Rebel73_imp - 03-01-2015 Looks awesome. What width are the racing stripes and gap? I'm looking to do some stripes on my ride. RE: Aussieflyer's Cafe Racer - part 5 - Aussieflyer - 03-21-2015 Hi Rebel73 - stripes on the tank and rear deck are 45mm wide with a 12mm gap between them. Have also fitted a fibreglass front guard that is shorter and narrower than the original, stripes on the guard are 22mm wide with a 12mm gap - I'll post a pic of the guard shortly. RE: Aussieflyer's Cafe Racer - part 5 - Aussieflyer - 03-21-2015 Quick update on progress plus a few more pics ... I didn't like the painted side covers so now they are satin black to match the air intake covers - much more to my liking. The original chrome front guard made the bike to too front heavy so Mick made a mould from it and laid up a new fibreglass guard that is now shorter and narrower. It's blue with matching silver stripes - tones the front end down. Had to fit a cushioned seat (ex Triumph rear passenger pad) - my rear end is much happier. Next steps still include satin black rear foot peg brackets, braided lines, and one day spoked wheels.
