Welcome aboard. Great descriptive post. Takes me (probably all) back to my first ride away from the dealer. Even though it had been apx 10 years since I rode (CB750 nighthawk), it was like I never got off. The ride was as smooth as I remember CBs being. It only took 2 miles or so to become one again. I bought the CB1100 and took off without a test ride!

Thank you very much, rbike.

Thanks, hadvalente. Looks like we, here in Texas will finally get a touch of winter come Monday - low's that night into the 20s with snow, Ugh.

Happy holidays.

I really enjoy hearing other owners so excited about their new bike. It wasn't that long ago for me. People don't always understand the passion we have for riding and the physical connection we make with these machines. Glad to hear all your expectations were fulfilled. Enjoy and ride safely my friend.

PS - I also hoping for that unusual warm weather today and tomorrow!

I have a unique story in that I got my bike delivered "twice". I purchased it in 2013, had all of the excitement QG and everyone else has experienced and stories told. That all happened while my wife was away - she has been _______ since my near fatal accident on my 750. Needles to say, it didn't go over well.

My CB had only 200 miles in its first few weeks, make that 2 years. Another long story I won't bother you with, but last Christmas I made a magnificent trade (deal with her) - I went through all of that excitement all over again as I am again riding with her reluctance, but I am. I got to relive even more so this time, all of that excitement, awe, and beauty a second time! I can't put that into words. With how the perma-grey options available (make that affordable) are in today's environment, I came to the realization, the answer has been sitting in my garage all this time in hibernation. The beauty, comfort , and pure magnificence of a ride being one out there is indescrible and some just don't ever get it. I am not _____ with them, they are just missing a wonderful opportunity in life.

I am now a much more offensive driver on the bike vs the car (totally defensive - polite) because I learned it is a 100% requirement (IMHO). You can not defer to a vehicle, you must take control of all situations when they present themselves. I will pass instead of being polite, I will not stay next to someone for any length of time, I will have the brights on, ... This is against my character, but I feel it is a requirement to stay alive when there is anyone else on the road near you except another bike!

Always good to be assertive when riding IMHO - its when you cross the line to aggressive that you may have other consequences

Thank you, Ron... and my first "real" ride is planned for the am (11 brief miles on the clock now).

Rbike -

I am near speechless after learning of your two year experience...

Having that beautiful, brand new motorcycle sitting in your garage all that time, not able to ride her. I am truly glad to learn that you are now "back in the saddle" and able to carry on with your life as a motorcycle rider - best wishes for years of safe adventures.

Way to go Quietguy! Thanks for sharing your experience.

I know it's been an emotional "roller coaster" with the situation on the first CB, but now you're riding what I think is the finest and most beautiful bike today.

The weather here In north Texas so far, has been fantastic. I ride just about every day, unless sleet, ice, or snow. And that is usually only a few days per winter.

Keep sharing your rides and stories. Maybe we can get the Texas CB'ers together sometime.
