I makes me nervous to see redbirds standing with his back to water at that wildlife refuge.

Too early in the year for large reptile activity? Or too far north?

Quite a few large gators in that pond. The gators were engaged with the nesting egrets and storks that are visible in the background. The gators like to hang out around the rookery to make a meal of any nestlings that either fall from the nest or are pushed out by a stronger sibling.
