Here,to us in the US, limiting ANYTHING doesn't make much sense, but to the rest of the world, they look at things a little differently. To us, limiting horse power, or speed is a personal affront, to the rest of the world limiting those things is logical for the greater good of the people. Do people really need a vehicle that will go 2 1/2 times the highest speed limit in the land?
I think in the not too distance future there will be a lot more limitations placed on the rest of the world, that will bleed over to the US. I believe some European countries are already making plans to ban gasoline powered vehicles in 2040. How long will it be before the US follows? With the rush to self driving cars here in the US, how many years before our citizens won't be permitted to pilot there own vehicles? Motorcycle or car?

The world was certainly a differnt place for my great grandparents, it will certainly be a different place for my great grand children. Heck, maybe even my grandchildren.

In my particular case I don't care either way if it has limiters or if it hadn't had limiters. Would make no difference in how I ride. Poor Mickey tried yesterday and couldn't even GET to the limiters lol, and I bought both my CB's know they had limiters in place when I bought them.

Personally right now I'm delighted to have my internally combustion self driven Honda CB1100, limited or not.

VLJ, I agree with your points but recognize the bikes you cited would not be out of place on a track (especially the CBR600), whilst the CB1100, not so much. The VFR's mission as sporty sport-tourer is in contrast to the CB's design intent, for whatever that's worth. Perhaps that's the distinction.

Hope you enjoy your test ride tomorrow. A lot of us are jealous you even have decent enough weather to go for a ride (well, perhaps not the ferret or MTC). I've not twisted a throttle since November, and it was cold then.

Dang...saw that there was activity on this thread so I got out my bong and everything, but alas, we're discussing rev limiters and not the what makes a thing beautiful

Guess I'll stop listening to Dark Side of the Moon now. Carry on.

If you are old enough to appreciate Dark Side of the Moon ( or even recognise the title or the band lol) you are old enough to appreciate the beauty of the CB1100

Either one would be appropriate
