RE: When the mind wanders: twenty-seven to one! - Stichill - 09-03-2019 Fabulous photos of a fabulous road through fabulous countryside on a fabulous bike! I know exactly what you mean about the preponderance of cruisers (which to me means Harleys) and two models made by BMW (RT & GS boxers). Funny thing is, there seems to be a huge variety of motorcycles available for sale these days. Where are all those riders? I think they are for the most part in the cities and suburbs. I think most riders never venture out into the countryside, so we never see them. (09-03-2019, 10:05 AM)VLJ_imp Wrote:(09-03-2019, 06:21 AM)cookiemech_imp Wrote: Why is any of this "depressing"? At least they are out riding . . . Lol, this is so spot-on...hilarious! RE: When the mind wanders: twenty-seven to one! - GoldOxide_imp - 09-03-2019 Be happy VLJ. Riders choose what turns their crank. If they have no soul and need the coddling of the herd, so be it ... HD may be their cup of tea. I am sure CB'ers are viewed in some daft way that we haven't learned about yet. (not! )Resonate and make love to your CB. Life is good. RE: When the mind wanders: twenty-seven to one! - LongRanger_imp - 09-03-2019 It's a U.S. thing, and probably regional at that. On my Alps ride last week, I'd estimate it was 90% BMW (almost all GS), plus a smattering of Ducati, Triumph, Moto Guzzi, and Honda Africa Twins. As reported elsewhere, I did come across three CB1100's. I also noticed a few HD's and it was hilarious to watch as they struggled to navigate steep, curvy hairpins with their ape hangers and forward controls, but by far and away the predominate motorcycle of choice was a sporty-tourer or a beak-bike. ![]() ![]()

Holy madre of motorcycle maneuvering madness! RE: When the mind wanders: twenty-seven to one! - emptysea - 09-03-2019 Depressed and embarrassed for all mankind because there were more cruisers than other bikes? <yawn> RE: When the mind wanders: twenty-seven to one! - VLJ_imp - 09-03-2019 Yes, EmptySea, by all means, take those descriptions literally. There is no reason to suppose it was merely a bit of poetic license meant to illustrate a point. Much better to take it word for word, exactly as it was written. Assume no nuance. You go, boy! RE: When the mind wanders: twenty-seven to one! - Offroad - 09-03-2019 Wow LR! What amazing shots! I'll have to add a new one to my bucket list :-) What other details can you share, where was it at, what was the Tour Company, what kind of bike did you get etc. RE: When the mind wanders: twenty-seven to one! - Gone in 60 - 09-03-2019 That last picture... that’s real, right? Like, here on earth, not a fantasy video game? RE: When the mind wanders: twenty-seven to one! - LongRanger_imp - 09-03-2019 Offroad, search for my thread "Hello from Innsbruck, Austria." I don't know how to add the hyperlink. RE: When the mind wanders: twenty-seven to one! - Captainwoot_imp - 09-04-2019 I tend to agree.. Mostly HD riders here as well. My little group is more diverse. We have my cb. A vfr.. Sv650.. Xsr900... K900cafe.. Gsxr750.. Ktm 1290.. Vulcan 900 and an m109. I guess it doesn't matter.. They are all fun to ride! |
