RE: Doc's Mods So Far... - hxd148_imp - 08-01-2015 Looks real good, really like the look of the clip ons on the your CB. Sadly, no, they don't fully clear the tank; however, the only part that touches the tank is the soft plastic part of the signal assembly, and it only touches at basically full-lock. I'll take a pic of it in the morning tomorrow to show the extent. If the gauge cluster wasn't so wide, I would definitely be able to push the bars out just enough to clear the tank. Good to know on the 2.5, and that is pretty reasonable to me. Again the bike looks great! Amen! My lazy butt even sits in that thing while cleaning the bike. ![]() Ps, you a CB? I was an MA from 06-10. One of the good ones, I think... Lol Docrid. In response to your question I have to assume no as I don't even recognize the acronyms CB or MA please explain so I can answer you properly? "Seabee" comes from the initials "CB" which refers to members of the Navy's Construction Battalion. I've never heard "Seabee" used for anything else so I just assumed you were Navy too ![]() RE: Doc's Mods So Far... - Seabee_imp - 08-02-2015 DocRid, they say you learn something new everyday. I was not aware of the Navy Seabees and am not military myself however to explain my forum name I work in the Marine engineering industry and came up with the name to suit the CB1100. I feel a little humbled now as the real Seabees are no doubt far more worthy of the name. Thanks for the information and explanation
RE: Doc's Mods So Far... - rubenscastro_imp - 08-07-2015 Love the bike! It looks awesome. Do you think the 3in. Woodcraft clip-ons would clear the tank? I was considering the 2.5in but i had the same concerns it maybe cutting it real close. Trying not to change the subject or thread jack, but on the topic/subject of clip-ons, would anyone happen to know the rise on the Yamamoto separate handlebars? RE: Doc's Mods So Far... - 12milesout - 08-07-2015 Hmmm... this bike looks strangely similar to one that showed up in the Show us your Bike thread on Arfcom recently.... I don't think the 3in would clear totally. Woodcraft does make a spacer that pushes the bars out a little bit, so that might clear it. Also, I wouldn't recommend going any higher than 2.5in. At that point, you might as well just get bars. RE: Doc's Mods So Far... - DocRid_imp - 10-03-2015 Alright so it's been a fun summer with these clip-ons, but I think I'm going to try out the cb500f bars. I don't think the clip-ons are a good match for this bike because the foot controls are too forward, making me feel cramped. RE: Doc's Mods So Far... - curlyjoe - 10-03-2015 Hot looking bike DocRid! |
