I did have to slightly widen both attachment points on the left side in order to provide more slack for adequate fitment. Took me a few minutes using my dremel-no biggie here. The tank knee pads are made by Jammer and are universal fit with adhesive backing. They measure 7"L x 4" H at the highest point. They were about $30. They are made well/thick rubber, although, as with any adhesive accessory, time will tell as for how well they stay on. I have a few adhesive chrome accessories on my '08VTX1800T, and I must say after 5 years, they are still secure and in place, which is why I ultimately decided on these tank pads. I purchased more for the look vs. functionality. These are available through many ebay stores domestically and are often branded for Harley and Honda. The red bar ends (Agras) and fork bolts (Honda) were from Webike. I also bought the Moriwaki Skid pads (black) with the bar ends and fork bolts from Webike and plan to install those shortly. The red reservoir covers are made by Pro Tek Racing and were $16 and purchased from Bocacycle ebay store. There are many color options. The Red reservoir covers match the red bar ends perfectly. The red fork bolts are not as close of a match, but harder to tell the difference given the distance between them and location. The chrome around the tank seam is simply a door chrome edge guard roll from Auto Zone. (For sedans, NOT the wider one for SUV) This went on very easy, as it has pre-applied adhesive. It cuts using a basic pair of utility snips. For the edge near the seat, I used gorilla glue and clamps to secure it in place for 24 hours until the glue set. It forms a nice hidden edge under the seat and is far less likely to peel off. I chose to wrap the chrome trim around the front of the tank, completely going around the entire tank seam. The original CB750 chrome tank seam trim stopped on the font edge of the tank and did not go all the way around. Personal choice here. Easy install for both. The seat chrome is from "Cool Retro Bike.com". Installation was a bit more tedious, as it's a real piece of metal chrome. I used cement glue adhesive, combined with a few small set screws drilled into the bottom of the seat plate to hold secure. For this, I ended the chrome strip as close to the same location as the original CB750, which was just before the seat curves in towards the rear of the tank. Again, personal choice here. The red side covers were shipped from webike today and I already received the 3D emblems from Babbit. Thanks to this forum, I'll use the hair dryer technique shared to remove the stickers that come with the red covers. I personally like the silver side covers, however, I ultimately decided color matched side covers made for a more retro look. Again, both look great and it comes down to personal preference.....just like any of it I suppose! K&N red stitched seat (Samurider) I first saw on this forum and knew I had to have it. It's the slightly higher/thicker version and promotes improved comfort/reach to the pegs for my 6' height. Most important, I feel a significant difference in overall comfort on longer rides. I also picked up an official OEM Honda Logo Stencil kit from Cool Retro Bikes.com that I will apply to the rear of the seat as well to give it that OEM stock look. My brother bought me a K&N Air Filter for my birthday which I will install with the new red side covers. Then.....there's the exhaust, which I'm still on the fence about. I love the 4 into 2, however, not 100% bought into making the significant investment, as I also like the stock OEM 4 into 1. I like the Staintune as well. Is there a perceivable power difference with Staintune and K&N? Did you need to remap? Of course, A part of me is waiting to see if someone invests in the '14 4 into 2 deluxe exhaust and installs on a '13, along with new center stand. The first picture of that may be what I need to push me to make the investment.
And I totally cheated with the Gators. They are the Jammer 41MM "slip around" fork boots with the built in internal "hook" seam and lock straps on the top and bottom of the boot. I used light cement glue in the seam, avoiding overflow but ensuring a secure fit. They are secure and are showing no signs of coming apart, although, I only have 600 miles with them. When I replace seals, I will most likely go with the real deal gators. Purchased from Sam Powersports on ebay for $33 + $6 Shipping. The front fender is from WhiteHouse and purchased from Samurider for about $250. This is also a nice piece, a breeze to install with no mods/tweaking necessary, and has the look of the original CB down to a T. All hardware included. The red oil cap is billet aluminum, came with a replacement o-ring (most do) and matches the bar ends and reservoir covers perfectly. Cost $16 w/free shipping bought from Planet Bolts ebay store. Stock fitment and exact size/shape.
