Ferret, yeah, I've heard one of those old 4 into 1s, and they are loud as hell. This Tadao or the Staintune are nowhere near those sound levels. I can barely hear mine on the highway, and that's without earplugs.

But, I totally understand you guys who don't want any background noise. I think once you up your rpms a little after break-in, you'll probably get to hear some lovely engine noises over your exhaust better than us guys who went aftermarket. It's all good!

I "think" I like it. It was so cold on the weekend I only took a quick spin. I can't really tell how loud it is riding it, but like the tone of it. Nice growl over the stock pipe which is what I was after besides the look. Also, I'm still breaking it in, so watching my revs still. Only about 200 miles so far.

The stock pipe sure is quiet. I'm sure some guys are fine with that, but I like to hear my exhaust a little bit. We'll look forward to a more comprehensive review from you when you get a few more miles behind you.

I took it for a good ride today. It is not loud at all under light throttle and idle, just a little more growlier and throaty, and only somewhat louder cruising. When you wind your revs up a little it is loudest but nowhere near as loud as pipes on real sport bikes. On the highway at 70 mph, it is not much louder then the stock pipe from what I can remember. There is also a nice burble on downshifts.

I am happy with the sound, volume, and looks of this pipe.

It was $600 something with shipping. Came within about a week from order date.

mustakoira, glad you are pleased with it. It sounds like a winner for the guy who wants something more throaty but not deafening.

I also ordered one of these mufflers from webike in April, along with a set of dark gray side covers. Somehow the shipment got 'misplaced' in LAX Customs. Webike have been no help in trying to trace the shipment and neither have the Japanese Mail Service. The US Postal Service first said to contact the supplier and when that bore no fruit to contact US Customs as the USPS system says the shipment is inbound into US customs. I did this and US Customs and Border Protection told me to contact the US Postal Service as CBP are unable to trace packages under the jusrisdication of the USPS. I'm still bouncing between CBP and USPS trying to find the shipment but am now running out of confidence it will resurface. Long and short of this tale, beware of buying from foreign suppliers without some sort of insurance coverage for teh shipment as they are hapy to take you money but reluctant to follow up with any assistance if the package goes missing en route. I'm $800 out of pocket and no one seems willing or able to help.

Welshman, did you use a credit card for payment? Maybe they can help.

Hi Ferrett, good suggestion. I did contact my CC company, I actiually paid via PayPal using a credit card. PayPal have so far been no help and my CC company like to be sure all other avenues to resolve the dispute have been investigated before they will look into it. However, they are now doing just that so I'm hoping some kind of resolution will come out of their investigations.

RE: SP Tadao pipe - the Ferret - 07-28-2013

You may have only so many days to appeal the charge in writing. be sure to keep an eye on that. I'm pretty sure not receiving product is grounds for not being charged by your cc company regardless of reason. You ordered goods you did not receive, you should not be charged.

Hi Ferret, having got no further with the USPS trying to trace this shipment I got back to my CC company who have started an investigation. They have 'back charged' the supplier and credited my CC with the total purchase amount. The supplier has 45 days to appeal but as you say, I didn't receive the goods so should not have to take a hit for the fact the goods went missing. The CC company also agrees. I hope that is the end of the saga it but will keep my fingers crossed for the next few weeks there is no additional comeback on this.
