I agree, it's probably a case of a false sense of security to have a tool kit. If it quits it's a call to CAA.

I bought the standard Honda toolkit (piece by piece). I want enough tools to, at the very least, be able to adjust the chain on long trips. I didn't need the full kit, but it makes me feel better that it's there if I need it. In addition to the kit, I was also able to fit a compact air compressor and a tire plug kit under the seat.
