RE: New more comfortable handlebars - the Ferret - 04-26-2018

KyHiker put some on back in 2013, but he had an accident and sold his bike. I don't think there are any pictures of his bike on the site.

Thank you for all of the advice and guidance.

This continues to be the best motorcycle forum on line.

There were photos of the bars that you took, Ferret, but, thanks to Photobucket, they no longer show. http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=5728
Then there’s these ones, http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=11957&pid=190941#pid190941

Thank you for finding a link with photos, Comanus. It is frustrating to find a link you need and the photos have vaporized.

geosar, the photos of KyHiker's buckhorn bars didn't completely vaporise. Photobucket suddenly imposed a monster charge for a service it had given for free and blocked access to them linking from forums. The Ferret retaliated by deleting many of his photos from Photobucket, so, even though someone has written a hack that works around the block which I have installed, I can no longer access them.

I can't now recall whether KyHiker's bars were the same as 3rdbike's.

Mr Dubs

I am in the process of pulling the string on the handlebars. Interestingly, since it is a genuine Honda part, the vendors are not allowed to give any dimensions. They are only allowed to use the bike VIN number and tell me if the part is stock for that bike-which we know it is not. Is this the number of the handle bar you used for a more relaxed sitting position. Thank you very much.

George, you may also wish to check with Flanders. They have about a million different handlebar models and can also provide custom cables and hoses.

I don't remember the part # off the top of my head- I can dig around to see if I can find it though...

RE: New more comfortable handlebars - 3rdbike_imp - 05-01-2018

OK, OK.... I confess! It was me who put the 'buckhorn' bars on my '17. However these are probably not the solution for Geosar, who stated: "I am now wondering if there is any way to get the handlebars in a more relaxed position so I can sit back in the new seat." As you can see in the photo, these Flanders bar will have you leaning forward quite a bit. (Which was my intent.)

I second that, Long Ranger. These are Flanders bars on the CB. Quality stuff.

I've had the SW Motech risers from Twisted Throttle on at least 3 different bikes and have never had a problem with control cables or hydraulic lines. In all cases some rerouting allowed enough slack.
