I don't know how others did it, but I removed the fender which made it so much easier to work on. RE: Front Fender Splash Guard - Lord Popgun - 02-21-2022 I think it can be done without removing it, but, like Rocky, I removed mine for the install. RE: Front Fender Splash Guard - peterbaron - 02-21-2022 +1, for perfect fit RE: Front Fender Splash Guard - Wagonpeddler_imp - 02-22-2022 Ordered today. RE: Front Fender Splash Guard - GoldOxide_imp - 02-22-2022 ... of course now that you have the front fender extender, you can now do more wet riding. I've had one on all my bikes but have always thought they should be a little longer. I did modify a longer scooter back guard to fit a Yamaha Bulldog and it was perfect at keeping the engine clean. RE: Front Fender Splash Guard - GoldOxide_imp - 02-26-2022 With over five decades of mostly beautiful manufacturer inline-4 design, if keeping the lump and pipes clean was important to the operation of the machine, they would have thought of something more generic up to help owners (not including full fairing tourers). That maybe would have included extending the front fender - as some members do like in this thread. So why wouldn't the manufacturers? To save metal cost? To save plastic fender cost? Is there a more practical or technical operational explanation? RE: Front Fender Splash Guard - Jonnyteabag_imp - 03-01-2022 Modern motorcycle mudguards(fenders) IMO are clearly designed by people who don't ride motorcycles LOL I think sad but true RE: Front Fender Splash Guard - GoldOxide_imp - 03-01-2022 (03-01-2022, 05:34 AM)Jonnyteabag_imp Wrote: Modern motorcycle mudguards(fenders) IMO are clearly designed by people who don't ride motorcycles LOL The best guards are on scooters and GoldWings. Ah heck, Indian motorcycles too. |
