What people actually paid varies substantially. I paid 10,000 for my '17EX and I believe 7600 for my '14 standard, both new from dealership.

Honda was giving $1,000.00 rebates when I bought my DLX in May 2015.

I got C$1000 off when I bought my 2013 in January, 2014, winter discount from Honda Co

In 2013 $9,999 was the MSRP for the non-ABS version of the CB1100 while the ABS version was $10,999.
