I had the exact same thought so I looked around for a used set of mid mount controls, I figured most people swap them for forward mounts, sure enough found a cheap set. I called the guy with the bike.... and of course it was sold.
I have found a Sportster Sport, it has piggyback shocks on the rear and if I remember correctly it also had 2 plug heads.
