The NC might be short 8 or 10 horses, but it will go all day without any mechanical complaints and without the thirst - as you already know. I think that's what MSCB1100 is riding now, and he loves it. Now, you have to bring it up to the mountains! I will eventually but the CB has to come up next, since I didn't bring it last time. I've got USB charging, Switchable flood lights (and they're HUGE), ABS, Hand guards, the bars are pre-drilled for heated grips because there's an OEM kawasaki heated grip that was sold as an optional factory upgrade, Tons of onboard waterproof storage, Excellent brakes for the weight of the bike, Fully adjustable Showa forks, fully remote adjustable rear shock, and a 5.5 gallon gas tank. Indeed a bargain RE: The revolving door keeps on spinning - LongRanger_imp - 07-29-2021 Interesting, Ferret, because when you had your ST and FJR, you thought your DLX was light. I guess it’s all relative. I guess it’s all relative. Yep all relative. The ST 1300 was 730 pounds. The FJR 642 pounds, the CB 556 pounds and the NC is 493 pounds. Bet if I got a CBR300R (357 pounds) then the NC would feel heavy lol. RE: The revolving door keeps on spinning - redbirds_imp - 07-30-2021 My NC 750X compares favorably with the BMW R75/5 bought in 1973. Weight and power are about the same. The riding experience is similar as both give the same relaxed cadence at higher highway speeds. My CB was faster of course but the motor always felt "busy" at 70 mph or better. My BMW was good for about 50 mpg with the optional 6 gallon tank and the NC around 72 mpg with it's 3.7 gallon tank, the BMW had the edge in range but not by much. With the very comfortable riding position and surprisingly good wind protection, I would not hesitate to take a trip of any length on it. Bigger, heavier and faster are not always better. That huge body and windshield is really something...but the versys still does have quite a bit of protection. it's actually surprising. when I looked at it my first thought was that it was going to be garbage for wind protection, but there's just something magic about the shape of the front end. I may not even upgrade the windshield. MP I have a taller Givi screen that I bought for my 17 versys and haven't been using it. If you'd like to try it I'll bring it to the rally and you can use it when you get back home. If you don't like/want it you can bring it back when you come to Barber's in Octber Mscb1100 RE: The revolving door keeps on spinning - misterprofessionality - 07-31-2021 That sounds like a sound plan! It's lucky we're getting to link up so many times. I'll take you up on that! |
