It was the reason I got off the Piaggio family brands and headed to Honda. Many of the nearby Aprilia/Guzzi shops closed. RE: Moto Guzzi rather liberally "borrowing" from Honda... - Gone in 60 - 11-29-2021 There's a Guzzi dealer a few miles from my office. I visited them on the way home last Wednesday. They don't have one yet. I'd like to say I'm looking forward to seeing one, which I am... but it's forbidden fruit for the budget. RE: Moto Guzzi rather liberally "borrowing" from Honda... - pekingduck - 11-29-2021 When I was in my Guzzi period, I always dealt with Curtis at Harpers Moto Guzzi in Missouri. Very helpful, extremely knowledgeable. Were it not for them, I wouldn't have owned them. RE: Moto Guzzi rather liberally "borrowing" from Honda... - bioman_imp - 11-29-2021 I bought my MG Griso in 2015. There were 6 Guzzi (Piaggio) dealers in British Columbia at that time (and 1 just across the US border, in Spokane). Now, in 2021 there is only 1 dealer remaining in BC, in Vancouver, 9 hours driving away - when the roads are not washed away. (And the one in Spokane closed as well.) Luckily the good old Griso doesn't require much maintenance and hardly any repair. Built like a tractor (but runs like a rocket!). RE: Moto Guzzi rather liberally "borrowing" from Honda... - the Ferret - 11-29-2021 We finally got a Guzzi dealer about 35 miles from my house 2 years ago. Nice guys. The last dealer we had in the area went out of business in the late 70s. I will go look at the Mandello, might even sit on it. If they offer me a ride on one I will take it for a spin, but I can tell you from experience, having ridden an Eldorado, a Breva 750, a Griso, and a V7 III that I'm no Guzzi guy. My NC 750X with the 270 degree P Twin is about as quirky as I can handle lol. At least it doesnt rock back and forth when I blip the throttle. I can't imagine the NC750XD trying anything to hurt you.
RE: Moto Guzzi rather liberally "borrowing" from Honda... - redbirds_imp - 11-29-2021 When I had my 2006 Breva 1100 there was a great dealer in Dahlonega, GA that had a restaurant, separate tire fitting shop and knowledgeable service folks. They sold some other brands as well and seemed to have a thriving business. A few years back the owner was badly injured while working on one of the shop structures and soon afterward the place closed. There is another Guzzi dealer in Jacksonville, FL about 100 miles from home that is also a Honda and Triumph dealer and where I traded the Breva for my CB1100. |
