Great video, But Honda started to use slipper clutch's on production motorcycles back in the early 80's on the v-four motors [and some other motors] and have used them off and on since. 36years ago!

That wasn't the point of my post though. It will, for the first time, be incorporated on the CB1100 starting with the 2017 model year.
I didn't know what a slipper clutch was or what it was meant to do so when I came upon this video I figured I would post it to inform those like myself that didn't know about them.

They're cool for sport bikes, but if I had to ask for one feature to be added to a CB this wouldn't have even crossed my mind. Seems like kind of an odd addition to the bike.

Many new bikes have the assist/slipper clutch these days. It's much easier to pull the lever and helps prevent rear wheel skid. The clutch on the Street Cup is amazingly light as is the clutch on the new Z650. Kawasaki uses these even on the 300 Ninja series.

I just finished watching it. "Slip'n'Grip" is a cool term for assist/slipper clutches. Ari Henning is a good man for the job here, a very sharp young fellow coming from a strong racing background. His dad, Todd, was a vintage race guy, one of the best.

Interesting video. I could have used a slipper clutch back in my racing days, but I can't say I've ever needed one on the street. The "grip" function would have been nice to have on the CB750, which has notoriously weak clutch springs. Even when brand new, the clutch would slip under max acceleration.
