Is the Native H4 from ADVMONSTER bulb really as plug and play as it looks? The headlight at night is the only thing on my bike that disappoints. Not that I ride at night often, but when I do, I would like to see better.

A test of premium automotive H4 bulbs by Consumer Reports magazine (Jan 2013) concluded that the bulbs do appear brighter to oncoming traffic and do marginally brighten the focused area. However they do not increase the range of your vision because that is a function of the design of the reflector. The same should hold true for LEDs.

I received the H4 R3 and the Native H4 today and installed the H4 R3 on the other side of my wife's CRV.
The H4 R3 probably would have fitted in my 2013 ABS CB 1100 as there seems to be less wiring in the head light bucket than on my 2014 DLX.
I put the Native H4 in the 2013 and will order another one for the 2014.
The Native H4 is dimmed or full beam but only one at the time , the H4 R3 will still have the dimmed light on when the full beam is on as well ; this is great for riding in the dark.
As I do not ride at night anymore the Native H4 led is perfect for me.
It is a very simple plug and play replacement.
I have to say that the service from ADVMONSTER is excellent , fast shipping and well packed , there are no instructions included but it is simple and you could always check out the video !

My bike is superior at any field other than offroading compared to my rider group bikes and I prefer to keep it the same way. a light bulb that can be easily replaced and with minimum time investment, and a good set of fog /axillary light and bars.

Pretty much any modern H4 LED light kit you might find on Amazon these days will work as a "Plug and Play". I've installed many of them in my cars over the last few years and heat has never been a problem.
There are two things, however, that will be a problem:
(1) LED lights have a thicker base above the flange than the standard halogen bulb. This makes it exceedingly difficult to get the wire retaining clip in place. The best solution I have found is to use an LED bulb that comes in two pieces, the flange and the LED portion. This allows you to clip the flange in place, and insert the LED unit in afterward.
(2) The stock reflector was designed to focus light from a glowing halogen filament. When you use an LED in that reflector, the results are unpredictable. Generally, you will not get an even, focused distribution of the light, although it will be much brighter. You will wind up with bright spots and dark spots and lots of glare. One day, an LED light will hit the market a unit which does mimic the 360 degree horizontal pattern of a halogen bulb. Until then, the best solution I have found is an LED bulb that allows you to rotate the LED unit around after the flange is locked in place. That way, you can move it around in the flange and test which orientation works best, though none will be perfect.

I changed mine with a Native H4 from Advmonster today , replacing takes less than 10 minutes , will check the illuminations later today.

I changed my haedlight bulb with a H4 native from advmonster, used the screw to the lower left to centeralise the beam to the right and increased the angle of the beam to higher and further by unscrewing the two hex of the side, I will update my finding about he outcome.
next step is two fog lamps or spot lights for my sw motech engine guard .

I still wonder how effective cooling is when the warm air accumulates in the mostly closed plastic shell of the original CB headlamp assembly. Maybe it is a non-issue if the temperatures approach that of the halogen bulb or is less. However, the LED electronics have to still tolerate the internal headlight ambient temperature, something that is a non-issue for a halogen bulb (no electronics).
