I think the stickers were clear-coated from the factory, and they protected those spots from fading in the sun. No color fades like candy red.

The stickers are not clear coated. A lot of us pulled them off as soon as we got the bike home. Used to post about it back in the day (2013 Smile )

Now the tank stripes— yes they are decals and are clear coated.

H.I.S.S decal I don’t know since we don’t get it in the US.

LP, you're probably right about the clear-coat on the CB1100, but they do on some. I thought this one did because he could feel a fine line.
