I think the stickers were clear-coated from the factory, and they protected those spots from fading in the sun. No color fades like candy red.

The stickers are not clear coated. A lot of us pulled them off as soon as we got the bike home. Used to post about it back in the day (2013
)Now the tank stripes— yes they are decals and are clear coated.
H.I.S.S decal I don’t know since we don’t get it in the US.

LP, you're probably right about the clear-coat on the CB1100, but they do on some. I thought this one did because he could feel a fine line.
