RE: Heat soak starter coil, or weak battery? - the Ferret - 10-09-2021 one of our members Flynider I believe switch to Lithium batteries in the AZ heat and has had good luck with them see post 15 http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=14995&page=2&highlight=Lithium RE: Heat soak starter coil, or weak battery? - j3gq_imp - 10-10-2021 Hi ferret, why does your name come up in bold on the right side list of recent posts ? RE: Heat soak starter coil, or weak battery? - the Ferret - 10-10-2021 dunno?.. Maybe because I'm a moderator? Have to wait until Cormanus posts and see if his does. If it doesn't, I have no explanation RE: Heat soak starter coil, or weak battery? - Lord Popgun - 10-10-2021 Ferret, yes. Yours and Cormanus’ names are in bold red. Because you are moderators. This can be changed. Remember when Cormanus changed his color? I then wanted a different color too? Guth said no. Too much work for the mods to keep up with all that. Was fun at the time though

I had clean all the connector as advised and also took out the grounding cable and brush it before reinstall it. Test all connector with ohm meter and all seems low resistance. Then i took her out for a ride till hot and swap the battery from my friends bike and it crank easily. Only the original battery seems weak when hot. And Max is right, I had only change the battery less than a year, but already pass the 6 months warranty. Its a Bikemaster brand AGM. Guess its time for another battery again. The heat here can range from 27C (80F) on cool day to 40C (104F) on a hot day, and my car thermometer sometimes show 42C (107F) park under the hot sun during noon... Maybe its the heat that shorten the battery life or due to the lack of riding recently due to pandemic... Yeah, beware: Not all AGM battery quality are created equal. Thanks for the info Mi Lord. Mi memory isn't what it used to be or should be. I'm not one much for change for the sake of change, so I'll leave it as it is. RE: Heat soak starter coil, or weak battery? - Lord Popgun - 10-10-2021 Cormanus, I’m not searching for it and it was a few years ago. You made your name a cool color and I wanted a cool color too. Maybe some others did too, I can’t remember. Anyway I think you got with Guth and he said no. Good call on his part. Smart man he is. |
