RE: Rear Brake Pedal Adjustment - pekingduck - 04-04-2024 On my 2014, I also lopped a couple threads off the brake push rod with a cutoff wheel. But if I were to do it again, I'd grind the brake pedal, because it's an area that just isn't necessary ever. If the next owner of the bike wanted to raise the brake pedal back up, or even a bit higher, he might run out of thread, which has safety implications. Grinding the brake pedal would have no effect whether the pedal is high or low. RE: Rear Brake Pedal Adjustment - pekingduck - 04-04-2024 Agreed. If they had made the pedal with more clearance, it never would have been a problem. But sometimes, they design it one way, they don't consider owner's preferences and what we might do. In other words, they can't test for everything. Including the little caveat "make sure the clearance....does not fall below 1mm." may have been their fix after they found a potential interference problem, rather than redesigning a part. RE: Rear Brake Pedal Adjustment - Gone in 60 - 04-04-2024 Well, looks like they tried to get sexy and hide the rear master cylinder behind the foot rest assembly, which wouldn't leave much room for adjustment. But it looks nice, right? |
