Veech, I'm in the Peoria area. I'm pleased you got a chance to test ride. Maybe I'll give Des Plaines Honda a call someday.

Nice to meet you sir! I am in Warrenville (next to Naperville) so we are less than an hour apart. Sounds like a nice ride to me-we should meet up for a putt sometime. Biker

suspension of CB1100 front and rear are great and of hi quality. default setting is a bit harsh when new and supposed to softened a bit after 5K. this bike is very stable at hi speed because of frame stiffness, suspension and its weight. I have more confidence with it than all my previous bikes. Precise handling is a correct description

I worry that with such limited rear wheel travel, the bike will be unable to cope comfortably with less than perfect (frost heaves, potholes, etc.) roads.

My current ride is a Triumph Street Triple R and it beats the heck out of me. Yes, it has a very sporty suspension but it also has much more rear suspension travel. And one of the things I would want from the CB1100 is a comfortable ride, much more comfortable than the Triumph.

Reviews that mention the suspension at all comment on how it is comfy but gets overwhelmed at speed. They don't say what the roads are like or compare the ride quality to other bikes, so the info isn't actually all that helpful. Can anyone elaborate on the ride quality and characteristics of the CB1100?
