Something is wrong with your bike. Have the dealer fix it, as others have said. Don't try to do anything yourself. Let the dealer assess the problem. This includes draining the tank and replacing fuel. The second you take that bike apart, it can be "your" fault. Don't touch it. Have Honda handle it.
The CB1100 has a very strong, smooth, capable engine. Yours is ailing, is all.

It sucks that your bike is having these issues, but rrest assured its a fixable defect vs. an inherent design flaw. The only reason you'll want a PC is to before power, not to "fix" the FI.
that's why I thought fuel could be at fault...Or condensation in th etank, water...

worth trying though...or a faulty ECU. rare but not impossible.
but...I wouldn't touch it myself except the fuel replacement.
Dealer shall fix it.

What colour is it? I heard some reports of the red ones being a little 'limp' in the midrange and lower revs

In 1985 I bought my dream bike, a Suzuki XN85 w/ less than 100 miles from a private party. It started no problem but when I took it for its 1st ride after trailering it home, it ran terrible. 1 cylinder was not firing. I spent an hour wiggling wires and when I wiggled all of the fuel injectors, one was a little loose; the little retaining clip went "CLICK" and it ran perfect ever since.

To my knowledge all bike manufacturers produce 49 state models, and California only models. We have the most-stringent emissions laws in the country, but I read somewhere that NY had adopted similar requirements. As an example, my 1998 VFR800 (Ca model) has different cams and a different ECU than the 49 state version. The shop manual gives different cam profiles for 49 state and Ca. spec bikes, with the 49 state bikes having a greater lift.

Hi JetA. The sputter is so very quiet you have to be really listening for it. Does your bike feel different, or to produce significantly less horsepower in this range? It may be my bike only, especially if nobody with Ca. models has experienced this problem on their 2013 models.
