The Honda representative that I was speaking to on the phone didn't have much technical experience at all (I asked him), so instead of wasting my time continuing to talk to him I ended our conversation. I intend to do further research before I attempt to synchronize the throttle bodies on this bike. The official Honda service manual shows where they can be adjusted, they just warn you not to do it.
I am a long time Honda Rider and current owner of a 2012 GL1800. I've previously owned a 2000 VFR800, 2004 ST1300, 2008 GL1800, 20120 VFR1200. All of my past rides were silky smooth fuel injection with never a misfire, stumble, or hesitation of any kind. I can not say the same for my 2012 GL1800. It has been plagued with a cold engine hesitation, that I can't fix, and Honda won't acknowledge. been to the dealership 4 times for this. Honda claims it runs as expected. many newer wings have this issue.
What I'm curious about is if other newer Honda Models have this problem with Fuel Delivery, smoothness, etc.
I considering trading my wing for a CB1100, as I don't tour all that much anyway.
Does anyone have drivability or smoothness issues?

There are also a number of posts regarding ECU re–flashing and the merits thereof. My bike, a '10 model, runs to my satisfaction. The only mods I have are a Staintune slip on and I have done a PAIR valve mod.

Thanks for the quick feedback Pterodactyl.... I like that these tricks are available, but I think I'm more interested in reports about how the bike performs straight out of the crate. One shouldn't have to modify the fuel maps just to get smooth performance.
As you read the posts above you will see that most owners, including myself, are very happy with bog standard. Due to emission requirements the standard map is probably , no certainly, a little leaner air/fuel ratio than ideal at lower RPMs. I guess the same would apply to all modern motorcycles produced under current design rules for the USA and most other countries. If you don't like it change the map. However, that would certainly be illegal in most jurisdictions as it amounts to tampering with the emission control system. May have warranty implications as well. I don't think the CB has any real "engine hesitation" at all. It is, as they say in this country at least, a "real pearler".*

My 2013 ran well out of the create. Very smooth throttle response. One of the better FI, but Honda usually is, However there are improvements. The motor is a bit restricted stock, to open it up you'll need a free flowing exhaust and some sort of fuel management. Either a PC5 or better yet a ECU flash will open up the bike up to much better throttle response at lower RPM's, stronger mid and top end.

Yeah. Smooth as a baby's you know what here too.
It's funny, that I always thought my NT700 was a just a little low on HP, torque, and smoothness until I bought the CB. Whereas I had thought the NT was a fine ride, it now feels like a dog. Nowhere near the same league as the CB.

My bike has run very well since day one (knock on wood) which seems to have exposed some drivability issues with my Moto Guzzi Griso. I have since put on several maps, the latest being pretty good,
So my main problem, I now have a bike that is showing some glaring issues with another bike I own.
