RE: Optiglanz question? - DGShannon_imp - 09-23-2014 Several have mentioned that once cleaned, certain products seem to delay, or prevent, the problem from returning. For years, I have used Wenol (http://www.wenol-polish.com/) on stainless and titanium exhaust, with great success. It very much seems to delay the staining, and weird discoloration, seen when these metals get hot. Doesn't have to be just exhaust, as it is an incredible polish on all metals. Came across it at a car show, about 20 years ago, and have used nothing else since. Have not tried it on the CB yet, but expect nothing but stellar results. Unlike some of the other products folks have mentioned, there is no danger associated with getting it on surfaces that you didn't intent to. RE: Optiglanz question? - Dakota_imp - 09-23-2014 Does anybody know the active ingredients in optiglanz? RE: Optiglanz question? - Cormanus - 09-23-2014 Try [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=3174&pid=45645#pid45645]here. You can also find the Material Safety Data Sheet [url=https://cdn3.louis.de/content/catalogue/articles/zusatz/sic/10004155_SDB_12.pdf?_ga=1.38387882.844683357.1411536246]here but it's in German. Some kind German-speaking member may take a look at it and tell you what's in it. The principal active ingredient is supposed to be Phosphoric Acid (albeit, a much more concentrated form than that used in CocaCola and other soft drinks). RE: Optiglanz question? - shdwghst457_imp - 09-24-2014 After using it at Elipten's house I ordered my own bottle, but 1500 miles later I still don't need it. Guess it's a lasting effect! RE: Optiglanz question? - The Spaceman_imp - 09-24-2014 If it's phosphoric acid , then the Naval Jelly I have should work. Ospho uses it too. I'm going to try it on an underside part and see. RE: Optiglanz question? - HikerToo_imp - 09-24-2014 Any better prices or places than at Amazon? http://www.amazon.com/OptiGlanz-Stainless-Cleaner-Removes-Exhaust/dp/B007ZO52E8 RE: Optiglanz question? - Stealth128_imp - 09-26-2014 Well tried this out only regret I have is not taking a before picture to post. All I can say os wow! It is magical I think Aliens for space made it . Superior results! My pipes never looked so good far better then new! Thank You All For Talking Me Into It! RE: Optiglanz question? - Southpaw50_imp - 09-26-2014 Very cool Stealth Like I said, I applied it once at 700 miles and now have 4,000 miles on my bike. My pipes still look great. I'm thinking I may never have to use it again. The $28 is worth it. I spent $830 on a Staintune and over $500 on a Road Comet 2 with stripes. The price of the Optiglanz is chump change, not to mention it's pretty easy to use. |
