RE: 30,000 mile (48,000 km) report - redbirds_imp - 03-14-2015 Thanks for the report. Your experience with valve clearance with your CB is what I have experienced with other shim under bucket systems, rarely needing adjustment. Many more happy miles to you. RE: 30,000 mile (48,000 km) report - Ole - 03-14-2015 Good job on hitting the 30,000 mile mark! ![]() I carry a MSR liter of gas in my top case on long rides. ![]() How do I keep it upright? Velcro is my friend. ![]() Works great for starting campfires with wet wood.
RE: 30,000 mile (48,000 km) report - the Ferret - 03-14-2015 A liter? They go metric in Wisconsin? That looks like an emergency fuel supply. I would like one of those for long trips where I push the limits between stops. Chip That would be a very useful thing indeed. Yep, that's what it is. I know I have about 50 miles to go when the fuel gauge starts blinking but just in case I miss calculate, that gets me another 10-12 miles. Hopefully enough to get to a gas station or a rancher's house. There's room for another on the other side too if I'm really going out in the boonies. Both of my CBs wear big NC shields in the winter and I've noticed that mileage drops several MPG with them on. On the plus side, the smaller NC Deflectors that I use in warm weather actually show an improvement in mileage over running without a shield. 30,000 mile (48,000 km) report - Elipten_imp - 03-14-2015 I would recommend a Rotopax container strapped under the tail bag.
