JFC. Yep. It's me that posts lots of maps. I draw 'em on Google My Maps when I get home.
There's a free iOS app from Navionics called Hike & Bike which will record your route. It doesn't rely on cell networks. Trouble is it uses Bing maps and there's no way I've found to get them off the iOS device. So back I go to Google to draw them!

Not sure if this is going to work or not, but on my way to work today i used the mytrack app that was suggested earlier in this thread. I think it could be exactly what I was looking for. Not sure if they have it for IOS, but it's free for android users. Pretty easy to use as well. start / stop / share with google drive.

Thanks JFC. There's something called myTracks for iOS. I may well have a look at it sometime, although it might leave a vast gap in my evenings if I don't have to draw maps.
