The first scratch is always the worst...

I know I'm gonna get pounded for saying this but I really miss my windshield bag on my Sportster. I can't use it on my CB1100 because the guages and the ignition switch are where I usually have it.

I thought about the tank bag and even bought one but I'm afraid of just what this thread is aboutDodgy

I have a great Givi E340 on the tail rack but its nice to be able to just put stuff in the windshield bag like when going to the bank or some place where you need glasses or whatever.

Ralph, check this pic out of Ferret's bike: http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=52&pid=11549#pid11549 I have a Cortech mounted like that and the Givi. The Cortech lets me do what you said about quick access to glasses, etc.

The drawback is you feel like you are mounting a horse when you get on Smile
It works for me, but I set close to the tank. Might not if you sit back.

Thanks, popgunBig Grin Thats a real nice setup. I'm gonna check into that. I got so used to reaching forward and unzipping the windshield pouch I sometimes still start to do itTongue

Put some of that 3M plastic on your tank to protect it.

RE: Operation Tank Bag: FAIL - Django - 10-25-2015

I use a Held tank bag, mounted with a belt with fast locks at the stearing head and a velcro at the rear end. It's very fast to mount and dismount, e.g. for fueling or to take it to the office.

I wrote about it already here:

Thanks, Django, how long have you used this setup? Any long term effects on the tank? Thanks for sharing, looks like that might be an optionThumbs Up

Where can you get small amounts of the 3M invisible shield stuff they use for hoods, bumpers, and headlights? That is the key I think.
Something like this but a smaller roll of course lol
