RE: Operation Tank Bag: FAIL - the Ferret - 10-24-2015 Good deal. Meguiers is great stuff. RE: Operation Tank Bag: FAIL - lash_imp - 10-24-2015 The first scratch is always the worst... RE: Operation Tank Bag: FAIL - Ralph_imp - 10-24-2015 I know I'm gonna get pounded for saying this but I really miss my windshield bag on my Sportster. I can't use it on my CB1100 because the guages and the ignition switch are where I usually have it. I thought about the tank bag and even bought one but I'm afraid of just what this thread is about ![]() I have a great Givi E340 on the tail rack but its nice to be able to just put stuff in the windshield bag like when going to the bank or some place where you need glasses or whatever. ralph RE: Operation Tank Bag: FAIL - Lord Popgun - 10-24-2015 Ralph, check this pic out of Ferret's bike: http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=52&pid=11549#pid11549 I have a Cortech mounted like that and the Givi. The Cortech lets me do what you said about quick access to glasses, etc. The drawback is you feel like you are mounting a horse when you get on ![]() It works for me, but I set close to the tank. Might not if you sit back. I got so used to reaching forward and unzipping the windshield pouch I sometimes still start to do it![]() ralph Operation Tank Bag: FAIL - Elipten_imp - 10-24-2015 Put some of that 3M plastic on your tank to protect it. 2014 CB1100 DLX 2013 CB1100 Std 1990 BMW K75 RT RE: Operation Tank Bag: FAIL - Ralph_imp - 10-24-2015 (10-24-2015, 04:43 PM)Elipten_imp Wrote: Put some of that 3M plastic on your tank to protect it. That may be an option ralph RE: Operation Tank Bag: FAIL - Django - 10-25-2015 I use a Held tank bag, mounted with a belt with fast locks at the stearing head and a velcro at the rear end. It's very fast to mount and dismount, e.g. for fueling or to take it to the office. I wrote about it already here: http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=5611&page=5&highlight=tank+bag post #41. Thanks for sharing, looks like that might be an option ralph RE: Operation Tank Bag: FAIL - MrGood_imp - 10-27-2015 Where can you get small amounts of the 3M invisible shield stuff they use for hoods, bumpers, and headlights? That is the key I think. Something like this but a smaller roll of course lol http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=2160 |
