The strongest card in your hand is your willingness to walk out if you don't get the deal you want. So long as you are willing to stand up and walk out, they will keep trying to sell that bike. And if you feel like you aren't being treated respectfully, turn your back on them and go. There are lots of bikes out there for sale by people who will treat you right.

Good luck. It's a great ride, so it'll be worth the effort in the end.
