Here's a picture of my (very dirty) pipe and shock. Peer closely and you can see the big dent at the back of the pipe. It's normal.

We may have kinda/sorta been neighbors, lol, as I'm originally from the Northeast, namely New Jersey, where I've lived for most of my life barring a brief stint in Florida before relocating to the Carolinas.
If/when you eventually retire to NC, I hope we'll meet and ride together!

Sounds good. I would love to make that N.Y. pension fund go a lot further by living down south. N.Y. is getting way too expensive.

I solved the "dented" stock muffler by replacing it with a Yoshimura--no dents, deeper sound with baffle intact. (2014 Yoshi has welded-in baffle).

Apologies for not responding sooner as I have not been following/monitoring the thread, and didn’t notice your latest comments and/or questions until now.
My home is in the foothills of Hickory, which is somewhat centrally located between Charlotte and/or Asheville, and ~ 60 – 75 miles from the former and/or latter.
In reference to “N.Y. is getting way too expensive,” I understand completely; my NC home and property taxes cost less than half what I paid in NJ.
