Boots are a constant topic of conversation among riders. Waaaay back in the day, when I was working as a fabricator, I had bought some Red Wing boots for working cause they had no laces for that could be damaged by flame-cutting steel dross. I had to have them stretched twice at the dealer before they were comfortable. They turned out to be not very good riding boots cause they were too stiff and it was hard to shift the Honda CL450 I had at the time, but they had no lugs on the sole, but they did allow a molten hunk of stainless steel to fall down inside them while I was welding pipe and burn my foot pretty good. Perfect boots are a rarity for sure.

Yeah, boots are a very personal decsion, and different things work for different people. When I work events, I can be on my feet for 12-14 hours a day, subject to slippery bad weather, sharp things, etc. I find New Balance 4E work shoes to be perfect. I wish New Balance made motorcycle boots.
